Emerald Valley turns 50

Many golfers in Puget Sound area may not know about Emerald Valley Golf and Resort in Creswell, Oregon, but it sure is by golfers in Oregon. It is a championship caliber course that has been around for a while, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year proving that it is not only a survivor but a celebrated standout course. It is the home of the Oregon Ducks Golf Team and is tournament tested and known as “The Home of Tournament Golf”.

With trees, lining the fairways and lush native vegetation bordering the holes, golfers will want to focus on their shots. But don’t be put-off by the trees, the fairways, for the most part, are generous and playable by all skill levels. Water comes into play on some of the holes and grass mounds and bunkers protect the elevated greens with tall trees lurking close by.

The course is known for its fast greens and tournament quality course conditions. It was named the 2004 OGA Course of the Year and held sectional qualifying for the 2014 U.S. Open.
