Black comes from behind to win Washington Open

PGA Professional Darren Black of Rainier Golf and Country club in Seattle won the 89th Muckleshoot Casino Washington Open Invitational with a final-round 4-under 68 at Meridian Valley Club in Kent, Wash.

Black won the tournament by two strokes over PGA Professional Brian Thornton of host
Meridian Valley. Chris Griffin of Tacoma Country and Golf Club finished third at 209 while Billy Bomar of Prairie Falls in Post Falls, Idaho took fourth at 211. Corey Prugh of Manito in Spokane tied for fifth with Sandy Vaughan of Glenacres at 212. Black birdied his last hole of the tournament and won $6,000.

Low amateur honors went to Kent Hagen of Meridian Valley Country Club.
Meridian Valley has been a long standing host for the Washington Open having hosted the event nine times.
