Changes are brewing at Jackson Park Golf Course in Seattle. The course, managed by Premier Golf, will begin construction on a new driving range facility this month. In order to fit the new range in, changes to the existing layout had to take place.

Jackson Park has been one of the most popular courses in the area for years, but has not had a driving range. The target completion date for the new driving range is fall 2014. It will be a two-tiered heated and lighted facility with 50 stalls total – 25 on each level. The driving range will be built on the site of the old 10th hole at Jackson Park. A completely new 10th hole is now in play along with a revised 11th hole which became a par 3. New tee boxes were built which play to the original green. The course is now a par 70 after the change to 11.

In addition to the changes for holes 10 & 11, the final three holes for both the front and back nines switched sides. Holes 7, 8, & 9 became 16, 17, & 18 and 16, 17 & 18 became 7, 8 & 9. A completely new green complex was constructed for the 9th hole. Jackson Park’s nine-hole executive course remains unaffected by the driving range project.
