NW juniors off to national event

Andrew Yang of Portland, OR won the 2024 Pacific Northwest Junior PGA Championship in Kennewick, WA.

Yang will have the opportunity to join the nation’s top junior golfers in the PGA of America’s premium junior event, the 48th Junior PGA Championship, hosted at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland. The 48th Junior PGA Championship will be held from July 30-August 2, 2024.

Yang 18, shot a total of 139 (5-under par) for the Championship and edged out Baylor Larrabee of Ferndale, WA.

Asia Young, 15 of Bend, OR, shot a total of 142 (2-under par) for the Championship and edged out Cienna Lee of Lacey, WA

Each of the 41 PGA of America Sections will send 4 players to Maryland. Therefore, Andrew Yang, Baylor Larrabee, Asia Young and Cienna Lee will be competing at Congressional Country Club.

Winning the Boys 13-15 age division was Justin Krasselt of Spokane, WA.  Conner Holden of Canby, OR finished second.

Winning the Girls 13-15 age division was Esther Yu of Renton, WA in a scorecard playoff against Hannah Wendorf of Lake Oswego, OR who finished second.

Makeo Rallanka of Seattle, WA won the Boys 12 & Under.  Jairo Sanchez-Godinez of Everett, WA finished second.

Anaya Lund of Auburn, WA won the Girls 12 & Under.  Isabella Yu of Redmond, WA finished second.
