Tyler Carlson claims Washington Open championship

PGA professional Tyler Carlson of Quail Ridge Golf Club in Clarkston, Wash. won the rain-shortened Muckleshoot Washington Open Invitational at Meridian Valley Country Club in Kent, Wash. Carlson opened with a 66 to take the lead and then finished off the championship with a 70 in the final round.

The tournament was shortened to just two rounds instead of the schedule three rounds because rain wiped out the second round of the tournament.

Carlson held on to the championship as a pair of competitors closed in. Amateur Johnny Carey of Mill Creek shot a final-round 68 to finish in a tie for second with Conner Robbins of North Shore one shot behind Carlson with 137 totals. 

Four players tied for fourth as Derek Berg, Matt Epstein, Tim Feenstra Casey King all finished with 140 totals for the tournament.
